Replace "Country Road" with "In the Air Tonight" during Tampa Bay Buccaneers Games

The Issue

As a passionate fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, I am deeply embarrassed by our current game day tradition. The playing of "Country Road," especially in the 4th quarter, has become a source of unnecessary ridicule.

This ‘tradition’ began when Tom Brady tweeted about it following their 2022 week 10 win in Germany, where the entire stadium sang along to this song. Subsequent games featuring teams like Chiefs and Dolphins have only proved this is not a Tampa Bay Buccaneers tradition.

This is not just an issue for fans; it's also embarrassing for our players who are trying to focus on winning crucial parts of the game. It's time we show some self-awareness as a sports town and change this narrative.

I propose that we replace "Country Road" with Phil Collins' universally loved song “In The Air Tonight” in the first quarter instead.

This change will not only enhance our reputation but also create a more enjoyable atmosphere for both fans and players alike. Just imagine how live the stadium and team will be when the drums hit. This will directly impact the positive performance of our team, while also improving the game day atmosphere at Raymond James Stadium.

Bucs Country, let’s use our voice and make an impact. This petition and signatures will be sent to the team front office, including game day operations contacts, prior to our next home game. I look forward to doing fake drum sticks with you as the best song drop in existence hits in between the 1st and 2nd quarter on December 3rd.
