Please keep Sharing with anyone you think may be willing to Sign this common-sense Petition to replace 47 days of live horse racing which risks and takes horses lives for mere gambling with 10 more days of the San Diego County Fair.  Most of the revenue the Del Mar Fairgrounds receives from the Del Mar Racetrack is Food and Beverage concessions, of which the San Diego County Fair FIVE TIMES as much in half the time.  

The Del Mar Fairgrounds relies on live attendance of the Del Mar Horse Races for most of the revenue it gets from these races, and this attendance continues to steadily drop, because wagering is mostly done online now -- and even that continues to drop, as in the 17.1% fewer wagers received by Del Mar Racetrack this past racing weekend (Friday-Sunday) compared to the same number of races in 2023.  

Five horses have died in 10 weeks of racing at Del Mar so far this year, of 53 reported by the CA Horse Racing Board. No legitimate sport would tolerate these deaths of its athletes as does the Horse Racing industry.
