National media attention earlier this year regarding the bad high school golf rule in Montana caught the attention of the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), one of the most prestigious organizations for young golfers worldwide. The AJGA, which hosts 120 events per year, now wants to provide an opportunity for junior Montana golfers to showcase their skills for college coaches. Parents and other spectators are also welcome!!! For those college coaches not in attendance, the AJGA provides results and information about the event results to their more than 1200 coaching members. Here is a link to the AJGA release regarding their new event at the Big Sky golf course later this summer: https://www.ajga.org/media_center/coverstories/stories.asp?uid=10220 IMPORTANT: The AJGA is looking for people who want to get involved with the event. If you are interested in getting involved or would like to sponsor the tournament, please contact Jason Ross at (678) 425-1769 or via email at jross@ajga.org. The AJGA wants to provide travel stipends to help with player costs and host a player/parent function during the weekend. Title, presenting, and tournament-partner levels are available to help cover the operating costs of the event. If you are unfamiliar with the AJGA, here is their mission statement: The AJGA is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn a college golf scholarship. Thanks again for signing this petition to overturn the bad high school golf rule that forbids parents and coaches from watching our kids play golf in Montana--and I hope to see you at this new AJGA event!!
