On September 26, 2022, the Blackhawk Home Owners Association in Danville, CA passed a rule on page 16 of a 59 page architectural standards document that, in effect, bans driveway basketball for many residents. 

The new basketball rule states “Portable basketball hoops must be stored in a location out of view of the common areas when not actively in use.”  Given the size and weight of high-quality portable basketball hoops, the difficulty in moving them over uneven surfaces, and the layout of many homes in Blackhawk, the newly adopted basketball rule is a de facto ban on driveway basketball hoops.

To demonstrate community support for allowing all residents, especially our children to play basketball in their own driveways, please consider signing the petition to request that the Blackhawk HOA to repeal the driveway basketball ban.
