The passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill (H.R.1) has raised serious concerns about its long-term effects on vital social programs—especially Medicare and Medicaid. While the bill was introduced as an effort to restructure federal spending, it has done so by cutting back on Medicare and Medicaid funding which has impacted millions of senior citizens in the US.

H.R.1 redirected funds from these essential healthcare programs under the guise of budget efficiency. In reality, it has resulted in reduced access to care, strained hospital systems, and increased out-of-pocket costs for seniors. The impact is especially harmful for these vulnerable members of society many of whom have few or no other options for coverage. The current structure of H.R.1 undermines public health goals and contradicts the promise of a safety net for senior citizens in need.

The goal of this petition is to prioritize the welfare of the people and refocus government attention on improving the quality of life of the senior citizens.

We ask for:

• Immediate repeal or amendment of H.R.1 to restore full funding to Medicare and Medicaid for senior citizens.
• A re-evaluation of national budget priorities to ensure social safety programs for senior citizens are protected.
