The Issue

A new costly update to California’s fuel standard is about to raise the price of gas at the pump by 65 cents per gallon.

The regulation was pushed through by the California Air Resources Board (CARB), a panel of wealthy and unelected officials hand-picked and directed by Governor Gavin Newsom. The change comes into effect next month on July 1st… and too many leaders in Sacramento don’t seem to care.

As Senate Minority Leader, I have been fighting this unaffordable 65-cent gas price hike. Californians already face the highest gas prices in the country. Hard-working families shouldn’t be forced to pay up even more.

My fellow lawmakers should be doing everything they can to lower gas prices. Our priority should be to make our state more affordable.

Unfortunately, Governor Newsom and Sacramento Democrats aren't listening. They voted against my Senate Bill 2 which would have immediately repealed this 65-cent gas price hike. Meanwhile, Governor Newsom has remained silent.

I can’t sit by while our gas prices, which are already unaffordable, sky-rocket even higher thanks to this new regulation. Can you?

Enough is enough. I will keep fighting in the Legislature … but lawmakers need to hear from YOU, the hard-working people of California who don't want to let lawmakers raise the price of gas even higher.

Sign my petition demanding that lawmakers in Sacramento immediately repeal Governor Newsom’s 65-cent gas price hike. There’s still time for them to hear from the people of California and take action to prevent this crisis before it’s too late.
