It's been four years since we first began our RepaveWaldo.org efforts and the results have been nothing short of a miracle. Our KCMO City leaders heard your collective voice and Waldo arterial roads are now being resurfaced!
With over 3,100 signatures demanding new Waldo roadway asphalt, 2023 turned out to be a year of positive change. State Line Rd., 75th St., and 85th St. were all milled and resurfaced. We now have better arterial roads than our Kansas neighbors and that is really saying something!
Let's give credit where due, too. Thank you to the following City leaders for not only meeting with RepaveWaldo.org but implementing much needed change and making sure these Waldo arterial roads were resurfaced now:
- Mayor Quinton Lucas
- City Manager Brian Platt
- Public Works Director Michael Shaw
- 6th District Councilwoman Andrea Bough and staff
- Former 6th District Councilman Kevin McManus and staff
We know the work is far from over. As such, the City committed to resurfacing more Waldo arterial roads over the next 18 months:
Wornall Rd. (Gregory to 79th)
Holmes Rd. (75th to 89th)
75th St. (at/near Wornall Rd.)
79th St. (Wornall to State Line)
89th St. (Holmes to Ward Pkwy)
These arterial roadways are now on the KCMO City proposed 2023/2024 resurfacing calendar: KCMO Street Preservation map 2023-2025
Thank you for your continued interest in making Waldo a better, safer part of Kansas City. Our unique neighborhood is improving due to your direct involvement. RepaveWaldo.org will continue to be your voice for necessary infrastructure change and we appreciate your support making that happen!
