Pothole Accountability, Tracking & Reporting

Earlier this month, I led an effort in calling for a change in how potholes are addressed city-wide with the Pothole Accountability Resolution 200114.  The resolution is a mandate to develop and implement a compressive plan to improve how the city responds to initial and recurring pothole reports.

I felt compelled to champion this resolution because it is time to approach the pothole upsurge differently. As of February 19, 2020, KCMO crews patched 832 potholes reported to 311 in 2020.  At this time last year, there were 720 potholes.  We need to come together for immediate and long-term solutions to combat this issue.  Community engagement, evaluation, and accountability all need to be part of the solution.

Your assistance in reporting potholes to 311 is essential, to enable Public Works in locating and patching them.
