The Mayor believes the City allocates enough money today to fix streets properly. It's simply a matter of providing better solutions with the allocated $17M/year along with an extra $40M/year GO Bond dollars. Keep in mind GO Bond money is split with bridges, sidewalks and whatever fund-siphoning pet projects come along.

The Kansas City Star reported in March 2017 KCMO City Engineer Jeff Martin stated roughly $45M/year is needed just to keep up with basic street maintenance. Waldo knows that is not happening. The City isn't catching up on the growing backlog, either.
