This issue hit closer to home when my pregnant mother continuously got hurt — every time we had to go out — due to the state of our road. Unsafe and unmaintained roads started affecting not only the daily commuters but also the health and comfort of my family. This experience propelled my call for change. 

Poorly maintained roads are not only obstacles but pose serious safety risks. Pregnant women specifically have reported discomfort and even health complications due to bumpy rides on such streets. Improving the state of our roads is not simply about smoothing our rides. It's a critical move towards protecting the well-being of all our citizens, notably expectant mothers. The government must attend to this matter urgently and comprehensively.
