President Trump now threatens to strip American citizens of our very citizenship, starting not with violent extremists like Vance Boelter - who murdered a lawmaker for speaking out against the president - but with critics like Rosie O’Donnell for that same "crime" of dissent. That is why, when masked, nameless agents cage a Baton Rouge veteran’s wife and make her nurse her baby behind bars, I am more than outraged. I am scared.

I am scared knowing our citizenship is now conditional on loyalty to a man. I am scared knowing the very anonymity that let ICE agents cage a mother and her breastfeeding infant in Richwood now threatens every one of us. I am scared knowing these masked men would just as easily storm our homes, strip us of our citizenship, and lock our own children in cages. When officers conceal their identities, they cease being public servants and become instruments of terror. This is not a matter of politics - it is a test of our basic humanity.

You have the power to restore that humanity. By supporting the No Secret Police Act (H.R. 4176), you will make federal agents put their names behind their actions - ensuring brutality is dragged into the light of the courtroom, not sheltered in darkness. I urge you in the strongest possible terms: co-sponsor this bill now. Stand with the people of Louisiana, not the secret police. Prove that democracy, transparency, and decency still matter here.
