Julia Janelle Letlow, born in 1981, is an American politician and academic administrator currently serving as the U.S. representative for Louisiana's 5th congressional district. A member of the Republican Party, Letlow made history as the first Republican woman to represent Louisiana in the House. She holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Speech Communication from the University of Louisiana, and a Doctorate in Communication from the University of South Florida. Her career spans various academic roles, including Director of Education, Director of Resident Patient Safety & Quality Improvement, and Clinical Instructor at Tulane University. She has also served in several positions at the University of Louisiana, such as Director of Marketing and Communications and Executive Director of External Affairs and Strategic Communications.
