📢 HELP BRING BACK THE GIMKIT CREATIVE FORUMS!

Recently, Gimkit moderator/owner Jeffo made the decision to put the Gimkit Creative Forums into Read-Only Mode.

This means community members can still read old posts, but nobody can create new posts, reply to discussions, ask questions, answer other people's questions, or start new conversations. 😔

For a lot of us, the Gimkit Creative Forums were much more than a collection of old posts. They were one of the main places where the Gimkit Creative community could actually come together.

If someone was building a Creative map and couldn't figure out why something wasn't working, they could ask for help.

If someone discovered a cool new mechanic, they could share it.

If Gimkit released a new Creative feature and people didn't understand how it worked, everyone could experiment, discuss it, and learn together.

People shared map ideas, tutorials, guides, discoveries, strategies, device setups, bug workarounds, and creative techniques. Experienced creators helped newer creators, and newer creators had somewhere to go when they got stuck.

That's what made the forums useful.

A forum isn't valuable only because of what's already been posted. It's valuable because people can continue the conversation.

Putting the forums into Read-Only Mode basically freezes the community in time.

What happens when Gimkit adds something new?

What happens when an update changes how something works?

What happens when someone has a question that nobody has ever asked before?

They can't ask.

And even if another community member knows the answer, they can't respond.

That's especially frustrating because Gimkit Creative is all about experimenting, building, learning, and figuring things out.

⚠️ THERE'S ALSO A SAFETY PROBLEM
If the official forums stay closed, people may eventually try creating unofficial replacement forums, websites, or communities because they still want somewhere to talk.

That can create a much bigger problem, especially when younger users are involved.

Around a year or more ago, there was an incident involving a community-made site where users' IP addresses were reportedly exposed or leaked when a large number of people visited.

Whether something like that happens intentionally or because someone doesn't know how to properly secure a website, it shows why the community needs to be careful with unofficial sites.

Random replacement websites may not have the same moderation, security, rules, reporting systems, or protections that an official community can have.

People shouldn't have to choose between having no community at all and trusting some random unofficial website just because they want help with a Gimkit Creative map.

An official, moderated forum gives the community somewhere recognizable to communicate while having rules and people responsible for keeping things under control.

Closing the official community doesn't necessarily make everyone disappear.

It can push people somewhere else.

And those other places might be much less safe.

❤️ WE WANT THE GIMKIT CREATIVE FORUMS BACK!

We're asking Gimkit to reconsider keeping the forums permanently in Read-Only Mode and find a way to let the community participate again.

If moderation, spam, off-topic conversations, or other problems contributed to the decision, maybe there are other solutions.

Stricter rules could be introduced. More moderators could be added. Posting limits could be used. Certain categories could be restricted. Accounts could have requirements before posting. Reporting tools could be improved.

There are many possibilities between having completely unrestricted forums and preventing everyone from talking forever.

We aren't asking for chaos.

We're asking for a safe, moderated place where the Gimkit Creative community can continue helping each other.

One person asking might be easy to overlook.

But if hundreds of community members respectfully explain why the forums mattered to them, Gimkit will at least be able to see how strongly the community feels about this.

You can also make your own post explaining what the forums meant to you and why you want them back.

Just remember: KEEP IT RESPECTFUL.

Don't harass Jeffo.

Don't attack moderators.

Don't spam Gimkit employees.

Don't send hateful messages.

That will only hurt the message we're trying to send.

Instead, explain why the forums helped you and why you believe reopening them would help the Creative community.

Tell them why you used the forums, what you found helpful, why you want them reopened, and why having an official moderated community may be safer than forcing users to search for unofficial alternatives.

They should be a place where the community can continue to create, ask questions, teach, learn, share ideas, solve problems, and grow together.
