CHANNEL 2 TV NEWS STORY "BICYCLIST COMMUNITY RALLIES FOR SAFER ACCESS TO MOUNT DIABLO

On September 28th, US Bank allowed an 8-foot section of metal fence to be built on 2354 Alameda Diablo, a property US Bank acquired as part of a foreclosure. The US Bank section of metal fence blocks a Historic Easement and closes the path that has been used for over 75 years by Hundreds of hikers, cyclists, and Diablo residents every week on their way to and from Mount Diablo State Park. This path connects Alameda Diablo to Mt. Diablo Scenic Blvd.

Shame on US Bank for approving the blocking of this historic and life-saving path. Placing at risk the lives of over 200 students in local high school and middle school mountain bike clubs, compelling them to ride on dangerous Diablo Road, and putting at risk thousands of people who annually traverse this path with their friends, families, and dogs. 

US Banks’ decision to close the Path is forcing users onto more dangerous Diablo Road and directly impacts public and personal safety. This Historical Easement is critical to public safety.
