My son, Keishawn Riley, was cruelly taken away from his loved ones in 2021. The main accused in his murder case is Ellis Caldwell, who, alongside others present that fateful day, spent little to no time facing legal repercussions for their actions. The charges against Caldwell were dismissed earlier this year, hindering the pursuit of justice for Keishawn. We find this outcome unacceptable and demand the courts reconsider. 

In the United States, in 2019 alone, out of an estimated 16,425 murders, 61.4% were cleared by arrest or exceptional means (Statista, 2019). This leaves a staggering number of families bereft of justice for their lost loved ones. We refuse to be one more family added to that growing statistic.

We implore the local prosecutor's office to review and reopen the case against Ellis Caldwell.
