The Issue

For over 30 years, North Gandy Beach has been a gathering place for the people of Pinellas County. Every Friday and Saturday night, friends, families, and car enthusiasts have come together to enjoy the waterfront, share experiences, and be part of a community that extends far beyond just a meeting spot. For decades, Gandy has hosted countless car events, meet-ups, and social gatherings that have brought generations together.

This isn’t just a beach — it’s a place where memories are made, friendships are formed, and traditions are passed down. People have been coming here for more than three decades to connect over their shared passion for cars, to celebrate creativity, and to be part of a community that supports and respects each other. Many of us have grown up attending these events with our families, watching new generations join in, and seeing the positive impact it has on youth and community engagement.

Now, “No Trespassing” signs and nighttime closures are putting an end to this long-standing tradition. This closure doesn’t just affect the people who attend — it erases a part of our local culture and a community that has been carefully built over decades.

We, the undersigned, believe that Gandy Beach should remain open at night. By signing this petition, you are showing that this space matters, that these traditions matter, and that a community’s connection to a place should be respected and preserved.

Let’s keep Gandy Beach alive for the next generation and honor the 30+ years of memories and gatherings that have made it special.

Let’s keep Gandy alive.
