We demand justice for Keneni Adugna, a young woman who suffered abuse and died under suspicious circumstances.

The man accused of abusing her — a well-known public figure — is now free and has been celebrated with a public award.

Meanwhile, the police failed to open a formal case. The media were blocked from attending court proceedings. Her poor family was left powerless. Her name is being forgotten while her abuser is applauded.

We call on the Ethiopian Government, Federal Police, and Ministry of Justice to:

Reopen the investigation into Keneni Adugna’s death
Make court records public
Hold accountable those who blocked justice
Respect the voice of survivors, even after death
Her life mattered. Her voice still speaks.
