In a small town where everyone knew her face, her disappearance left a gaping hole. Her red heels, hair dryer, and bent car key were found strewn about in the parking lot, but Jodi was nowhere to be found. Over 30 years later, her case remains cold.

Jodi was a beloved figure, our very own celebrity anchoring the morning show in a town of just 29,000 people. The morning she went missing, a neighbor reported hearing a scream and, possibly, seeing a light-colored van in the vicinity. Yet, no arrests have been made, and the palm print on her car has yet to yield answers. It's as if Jodi simply vanished into thin air, and the frustration of not knowing has lingered all these years.

Leading up to her disappearance, Jodi had received unsettling phone calls, prompting her to consider changing her phone number. She was proactive, taking self-defense classes and even filing a restraining order against a stalker in a white pickup truck. Yet, despite these precautions, safety eluded her. Her ambition to break out of Mason City and make a bigger name for herself was tragically cut short. It's unbearable to think that her story concludes with questions instead of justice.

We must advocate for the relentless pursuit of answers. It's time for Iowa's Attorney General to revisit this cold case. Reinvestigating the evidence—like the palm print and witness testimonies—could jolt the case forward. Jodi deserves justice, and her family and our community deserve closure.
