UPDATE:
From all of us at Boggo Road Gaol thank you for your ongoing support - which now stands at 2000 signatures.
There has been a great deal of media interest in our campaign to reopen the Gaol. In the image above former Boggo Road Gaol prison officer Kevin, President of the Boggo Road Gaol Museum Inc., talks with A Current Affair reporter Reece about the need for a permanent museum on site at the Gaol. We have been lobbying for more than a decade to establish displays of artifacts and historic items. Visitors love our guided tours and experiences but they have been asking for us to setup a museum for years. We have tried repeatedly to get support without success. We cannot understand why this is the case.
The Gaol is not being redeveloped or demolished. It is heritage-listed. This does not mean it cannot be adaptively reused. We would like the State Government to support our vision for this incredible heritage site to become a major tourism attraction for Brisbane, Queensland and Australia. We need these experiences for the Olympics. We already have laid the groundwork over the past 10 years - we need certainty so we can reopen. Locals, schools, seniors, film-makers, disability groups and interstate and overseas visitors want us back!

We will give another update soon. Boggo Road Gaol Team.
