Hey all, 

Running this petition in hopes to with right support get London Ashford International Airport reopened again for commercial flights to Europe, especially with current situation happening with non high speed international services via Eurostar not stopping in Kent. Especially via both Ashford Int & Ebbsfleet Int, which I find with current situation going on holiday either residents of Kent travelling to Europe having to travel miles to either catch a train or plane to Europe, which got me thinking. With two airports in Kent which with future improvements, upgrades. Why not via both Thanet Manston Airport for Medway, whole of Thanet, Sandwhich and Canterbury have Manston operating passenger flights aswell Lydd a.k.a London Ashford International Airport for southern Kent. Serving towns like Ashford, Tenterden, Folkestone, Dover into Sussex via Hastings, Eastbourne aswell beyond? Taking strain of LGW & Heathrow, aswell other UK airports?

Maybe introducing Cargo at this airport aswell alongside Manston? Also think this over train as flights are cheaper than train, so just think why not with upgrades to infrastructure? Have mainline tracks upgraded between both Hastings & Ashford via maybe HS1 upgrades. Have a new railway station built at London Ashford International Airport? Offering Highspeed services from London St Pancras Int to this airport aswell Manston via HS1? Via either Margate? Or via Ebbsfleet & Ashford Int stations? With both airports or London Ashford Int Airport offering potentially services via TUI, Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet 2 and more to destinations across rest of Europe especially Disneyland Paris, current Eurostar destinations? Just think this is a better option, think with rail returning to Kent, its a broken record of promises, excuses from Eurostar and delays from businesses.

Just think its just easier & cheaper to fly, why not from either Manston or Lydd? Especially with other UK airports also being far away to travel to. Would be really helpful for us locals to travel through to Europe aswell maybe in future rest of world via Lydd or Thanet, instead of travelling long distances to others. This also would benefit tourists coming to Britain aswell, not just locals and give aswell two more entries into UK via Kent.
