Our five-year-old, [Redacted], faced physical abuse and neglect in December 2023 at the hands of his dad's girlfriend. Albeit the severity of the incident, the prosecutor's office decided to close the case without filing any charges. This decision not only brought a profound sense of injustice, but it also jeopardizes the safety of our child and others who might suffer from similar circumstances. 

Child abuse and neglect are serious issues, and it's alarming that every year, around 1 in 7 children in the USA have experienced child abuse or neglect in the past year (Childhelp). Unfortunately, such incidences, including ours, often get overlooked by the legal system, leaving the victims and their families feeling devastated, disheartened, and helpless.

We are calling on all empathetic citizens and the relevant legal entities to support our petition to reopen the case and file charges against the perpetrator. Let's try to provide [Redacted], and all other children who have been victims of such callous decisions, with hope and a sense of justice.
