Rent Control Now for South Pasadena

The Issue

The population of South Pasadena, CA is comprised of 53% renters who do not have rent control and are subject to increases every year depending on the rate of inflation in Los Angeles County. The current rent cap is 8.9% as of August 2024.

We at South Pasadena Tenants Union are dedicated to getting a rent control ordinance passed so ourselves and our neighbors can afford to stay our homes. The current situation is unsustainable, and we demand our city officials recognize this is a crucial issue for the future of our city.
