Renovate the skatepark at the Brunswick Sports Complex

Renovate the skatepark at the Brunswick Sports Complex
The Issue
The skatepark at the Brunswick Sports Complex has been a staple for local skaters for years, but recently, it's become a source of concern rather than joy.
The park's deteriorating condition isn't just an eyesore, it's a safety hazard. The asphalt has cracked, the ramps have become unstable, and the rails are rusting. As someone who deeply cares about the Brunswick skate scene, I believe it's critical that we give our beloved park the updates it so desperately needs.
The current state of the skatepark doesn't just affect skaters; it affects the entire community. When a local spot becomes neglected, it can tarnish the image of the area and deter not just skaters but also families and tourists from visiting.
The Brunswick skatepark has the potential to be a lively, engaging place that inspires both young and seasoned skaters alike. By investing in its renovation, we can revitalize the park and transform it into a community hub that brings people together.
Renovating the park could include resurfacing the concrete, installing new ramps designed for skaters (and potentially by skaters) of all skill levels, and adding features that make it a unique destination for Brunswick and beyond. Take Middletown’s new skate spot for example.
According to the National Recreation and Park Association, communities with well-maintained recreational facilities experience increased property values, decreased crime rates, and improved community cohesion.
I urge the community, local businesses, and the city council to come together and support this initiative.
Please consider signing this petition to show your support for renovating the skatepark at the Brunswick Sports Complex. Thank you!
