After years of wear and tear, the Fort Hamilton High School Athletic Field is becoming a safety hazard for all who use it. The baseball mounds cannot be covered up during games that require the field (football, lacrosse, soccer, etc.), massive pieces of the track and field are torn up, and the tennis and basketball court area acts as a lake when it rains. This public field is used by high school students, members of the community, and various sports leagues for young children. The safety of the community can not be put at risk on what has the potential to be a state-of-the-art athletic complex.
