The Issue

I love to skate, but there’s nowhere good in Bensalem to skate. The community skatepark’s facilities are outdated, and the layout fails to provide a seamless and enjoyable experience for skaters of all levels.

In its current condition, the skatepark doesn't allow skaters to develop their skills effectively due to poorly designed ramps and worn-out surfaces. The soft flooring and a lack of modern features hinder both safety and enjoyment, discouraging both newcomers and seasoned skaters from participating in a healthy, active lifestyle

Bensalem Township prides itself on fostering community spirit and supporting recreational activities. Renovating and redesigning the skatepark is a step towards providing a safe and modern environment where skaters can thrive.

Recent studies have shown that skateparks not only promote physical health and well-being but also improve mental health and foster social connections. Communities that invest in these recreational areas often see a decrease in youth-related issues, such as vandalism and substance abuse, as young people are given positive outlets for their energy and creativity.

Our proposal includes resurfacing the grounds, adding smooth transitions, incorporating modern ramps and obstacles, and ensuring a layout that promotes flow. We envision a space designed with input from local skaters, where innovation and community needs guide the developments.

By signing this petition, you are advocating for a revitalized skatepark that can meet the demands of today’s skaters and inspire future generations. Let's band together to urge the local authorities to invest in the future of Bensalem's youth and provide them with the facilities they deserve. Please lend your voice to this cause and help us transform the Bensalem skatepark into a beacon of community enthusiasm and unity. Sign the petition today to make a change that rolls forward.
