Don’t rely on your neighbors!!! Do your part!!! NAB Meeting May 15, 2018 @ 5:30 Moana Nursery Reapplication for Annexation to City of Reno-Steamboat Meadows June 6, 2018 starting at 10 a.m. This is a reminder to attend the NAB meeting (Neighborhood Advisory Board) (see time above, May 15) which exists to hear what we, the neighborhood citizens, want in our communities. Don’t rely on your neighbors! Do your part!!!!! The Reno City Council will make a decision on whether or not to annex this property (at the June 6 meeting) based on your comments at the NAB meeting. This is a discretionary action for the City Council. We need to have our voices heard at both meetings!!!! Please attend! We need community support! Don’t rely on your neighbors, do your part! Attached is the developer’s annexation application for your review. Please note the following topics about which we need public comment. The applicant must prove all required findings with the application. Please fill out public comment cards or request to speak on the following topics. If you do not speak or fill out a card, your message will never be known. You can get the comment card from the clerk, do not be shy and please speak if you can. At the NAB, when you fill out the card, reference Steamboat Annexation, that will be the same reference you use at the Reno City Council Meeting. The developer will say that we keep changing our position which is untrue. We have always maintained the same position which is to retain the logical transition between rural and suburban/urban. We successfully made this point at the Regional Planning Commission but need to reinforce it with public comment at both the NAB and the Reno City Council. Garrett Gordon will be representing our community and will be speaking on our behalf; however, that does not mean that we do not need to attend the meetings. We need to be out in force. It is critical we have tremendous support and turn out at both these meetings. Please support our efforts and attend both meetings. Our community representatives need to understand our position as residents of the area. Please let me know if you have any questions. Garrett has been lobbying our position on a continuous basis and is doing an outstanding job on our behalf. Our legal fund is empty. Please contribute what you can to retain our quality of life.
