Hello concerned citizens, The staff report that the Community Development team has turned into Reno Planning Commission has been posted online for all to see. The Steamboat Meadows Development portion begins on page 300 of the 429 page document. Just go to the link below and click on the March 1 "Agenda Packet" and scroll down to pg 300 to begin reading. Pages 312-313 "Zoning Map Amendment: General zoning map amendment requirements A-O" will be our best ammunition to fight the zoning changes. Pay close attention to "M - To ensure the protection of existing neighborhoods and communities, including the protection of rural preservation neighborhoods." Putting 6,000 square-foot lots "hidden" by one row of 1-acre lots is not "protecting the existing neighborhoods and communities..." Again, lets ask the Reno Planning Commission to deny the zoning and master plan changes, as they are not consistent with the existing rural characteristics of Steamboat Valley and will be detrimental to all citizens of Reno. Citizen's meeting at Pleasant Valley Elementary School 2/28/17 6 p.m. Planning Commission meeting at City Hall 3/1/17 6 p.m If you can only attend one meeting, please attend 3/1/17 meeting to make you opposing voices heard. If you pledged money and have not yet delivered, please get it to Judy Coulter ASAP. Together we can save our beautiful, scenic rural valley for us and ALL of the citizens of Reno to enjoy well into the future.
