Renew Mark Franklin’s Contract at Corvian
The Issue
Mark Franklin has been more than just an assistant athletic director. He has been a constant presence, a mentor, and a culture-builder whose impact reaches far beyond athletics. There is no one who has protected and influenced the culture among our students across all campuses more than Mark. His leadership, character, and deep care for students have helped define what makes Corvian special.
The recent decision not to renew Mark’s contract has left many in our community confused and disappointed. His dedication to building strong, inclusive athletic programs, especially his work with wrestling and girls’ sports, has left a legacy that cannot be replaced.
This is not simply a staffing change. It is a step backward in the values we say we uphold as a school. While we understand the role may need to be eliminated, leadership should have found a way to preserve Mark’s presence in another capacity. To lose him entirely is a mistake.
We are calling for transparency, accountability, and a voice in decisions that affect our children’s experience. We urge school leadership to hold a public forum where this issue can be addressed openly and parents can be heard.
Please join us in asking for this decision to be reconsidered. Let’s stand together and show that we value people like Mark Franklin, people who give everything to our kids and make Corvian stronger because of it.
