Doubling Down with the Derricos television show started back 2020 during the time of the Global Pandemic. This interesting family caught my eye with Karen Derrico (the wife and mother) giving birth to multiple and then more multiple children which is a very rare occurrence.  Karen along with her husband Deon Derrico shared their own unique journey about raising 14 children that includes four sets of multiples.

Let's Meet the Derrico's
The Derrico Family unit consist of a married couple Deon and Karen Derrico. Along with their children; Darian, Derrick, twins Dallas and Denver, quintuplets Deonee, Daician, Daiten, Deniko, Dariz, triplets/triplins Diez, (including the late their brother Carter), and lastly triplets Dawsyn, De'Aren, and Dyver. The Derrico family also consist of the matriarch of the family, grandmother 'GG', and an honorary family member, Eric Jefferson.
Throughout the seasons, we have seen the Derrico children along with their Parents, dance, sing, learn, travel, manage daily obstacles of organization, grief, social issues, giving birth, breastfeeding, budgeting, camping, health issues with surgeries and cancer, homeschooling, and the list goes on and on. This family deserves to stay on television for a long time! Why? It's fulfilling to have a family friendly show that addresses the issues of today. It is no other family that have this unique story that can replace Doubling Down with the Derricos.

How has Doubling Down with the Derricos Help My Family?
Instantly, my family became interested in the new show on TLC. It was refreshing and appealing to see a family that had so many multiples as children. The show wasn't dramatic or a trainwreck like other shows on air. Doubling Down with the Derricos is what we all currently want to see on television, which is a loving genuine family. Simply put, my family can't get enough of this show. My kids and I started following these beautiful talented children on social media. Each season, we tuned in every week for new episodes.
I have never met the Derricos, but it gives me a glimpse of what my grandparents family was like back in the 1930s. My grandparents had 15 children and nowadays that huge of a family is unheard-of, until Doubling Down with the Derricos came along. This show gave me what I needed to know about how my grandparents managed 15 kids in a 1,000 square foot house. I am one of 53 grandchildren and people like me are very interested on learning how big families function daily.
Doubling Down with Derricos has helped my family and especially my son. My son lost his dad back in 2018 due to a workplace accident. His dad got stuck and suffocated in a sand hopper. It was a very traumatic experience for us all. It was absolutely nothing on television that we could both relate during our time of grieving. It was absolutely no positive black male role models on the TLC network until Doubling Down with the Derricos premiered in 2020.
Finding this show back in 2020 has made a difference in my son. Why? He can relate to almost each of the boys featured on Doubling Down with the Derricos. My son looked at the Derrico boys as his television brothers. They would sing, dance, play, get haircuts, ask questions to their mom, dad siblings, and just be overall great children. Not until, the pandemic time in 2020 when we were all forced to stay indoors, we came across Doubling Down with the Derricos. After the first episode, we were instantly hooked. My son would tell me, that Mr. Deon Derrico reminded him of his loving dad.  This definitely had me in tears. I finally seen my son smile to a positive family on television.
My daughter is currently 17 years old, and she can relate to the eldest Derrico daughter, the beautiful Darian. My daughter had self-esteem issues, learning how to drive, helped out her younger sibling, getting a first job, school issues, dating, in which we don't see this on television. Real life situations that teenage girls go through!  Where on television, can we find that? I can tell you where, Doubling Down with the Derricos on TLC.  My daughter has learned so much from Darian and they are the same age. Each person in the Derrico family can relate to someone in each of our households. It's not another family on any television network that have a number of multiple - multiple children.
Parents can also relate to this show in a number of ways. During 2020, the majority of us had to homeschool our children. Karen Derrico is now doing this on a daily basis with her 14 children! Karen Derrico definitely deserves a mother of the year trophy. Who can manage teaching 14 children at home, doing homework, teaching, meal planning, laundry, housework, errands, etc... and the list goes on and it's endless. We all know children need attention almost 24 hours a day. Why 24 hours? At times, kids are sick, or we may be sick. Imagine being sick and caring for the children who may not be sick? Karen Derrico attention goes to all of her children.
We have never seen the Derrico children misbehave on television. On many occurrences, throughout the seasons and episodes a lot of people that have seen the Derrico children out in public have stated that all of the children are well behaved. Thanks to great parents Deon and Karen Derrico, a beautiful grandmother, GG, and the honorary Derrico, Eric Jefferson.

Health Awareness
Where can you find another show on television where the grandmother is suffering from cancer, but still fighting and kicking cancers butt to be present for all of her grandchildren? The only show you can find this is on TLC's Doubling Down with the Derricos. Many families suffer in silence. But Ms. GG has given hope to many families whose parents or grandparents that are suffering in silence with cancer being currently present or in remission. Ms. GG has showed us what it means to fight. Fight in faith, fight for love, and fight for her life! Ms. GG is a powerful woman. I know she has given hope and a voice to so many other people that are suffering in silence or feel that no one else is going through the same pain as she is. Doubling Down with the Derricos is providing that to television households.

Questions for TLC
1.  Why must us viewers have to wait an entire year to watch Doubling Down with the Derricos and in the summertime?
 2.  Why isn't TLC advertising Doubling Down with the Derricos as much as other shows on TLC such as: Sister Wives, Out-Daughtered, and in the past The Duggars, to name a few?
3.  We, as viewers, knew way before the season started with these other shows through advertisement on TLC.  We were also reminded daily, through commercials, TLC social media about the new weekly episodes. Why can't the same be done for Doubling Down with the Derricos?  All these shows we were reminded on TLC social media and commercials except for Doubling Down with the Derricos. From my own research, I definitely do believe Doubling Down with the Derricos had to rely only on their own advertisement through each of their own social medias for each season. The only reason I knew it was a season 4 was based on the Derricos own social media and no other source including no TLC social media or commercials.
When season 4 started, I tuned into Discovery Plus/TLC network only to find out that season 4 wasn't on there the day as previous seasons 1-3. We as viewers had to wait until the season ended, to watch it on Discovery/TLC. But other shows premiered on Discovery/TLC the same day as airing. So, of course, their ratings would be higher. We didn't have to search for the episodes of other shows as we did with Doubling Down with the Derricos.
4. As a viewer, I was determined to find the season 4 of Doubling Down with the Derricos. Let me repeat that statement, I, as a loyal viewer, had to do my own research to find this tv show on TLC. I as a viewer, and other viewers should never have to search for a show on TLC. Then I informed other viewers on where they could stream Doubling Down with the Derricos. Why am I having to find where to watch this as a loyal viewer of the show? It is not my job to look and search for a current season on any show on TLC. Eventually I found it on Prime, but it would cost per episode or buy the season. Why pay for it and I subscribe to Discovery/TLC network? Then, after 2 weeks, I found it on TLC GO. I have never been on TLC Go until Doubling Down with the Derricos season 4. Since the show ended, I haven't gone back to TLC GO.
5. Why are other shows such as Dr. Pimple Popper, Out-Daughtered, 7 Little Johnstons, Sister Wives, Darcey and Stacey, are all on Discovery/TLC network the day of the show and can be watched at a decent time? Why put this show on in the summertime at 10:00p.m.? At 10:00 p.m. in the summertime, my kids are in bed or getting ready for bed. Why can't this show come on a decent time between 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. in the fall or spring? Also, families are traveling in the summertime. Most families are enjoying the outside in the summertime until dusk. At dinnertime, my kids put their electronics away. We at times watch television. If Doubling Down with the Derricos were on during dinner timeframe and in the fall or spring, my family would definitely watch it at that time. I do believe TLC to be a family network, and most of the shows on this network can't be watched with my family.
6.  A lot of advertisement these shows are on at a decent time including: Sister Wives, and in the past The Duggars. No one that I know and no one in my family can relate to anyone on Sister Wives or in the past, The Duggars. Yet, we all knew way ahead of time the premiere of the show and reminded every week by commercials or TLC social media. Why can't the same thing be done for Doubling Down with the Derricos?
7.  Why haven't the Derrico family be featured as guest on the following shows: Nickelodeon, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, Family Feud (an episode along with the out-daughtered family or another family would draw in a lot of viewers), Sherri Shepherd, Jennifer Hudson, The Talk, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Tamron Hall, and Live! with Kelly and Mark? I understand these shows are on only filmed during a certain time of the year. But, if Doubling Down with the Derricos season would start in the fall or spring, they can be guest on those shows mentioned above. Simply put, there is no other family of color on the TLC network. Why not put in the work to make the Derricos one of the most talked about families on social media and television? The Derricos have a chance to be bigger than what they are currently with the help of TLC.

According to the website cheatsheet.com, low ratings could mean the end of ' Doubling Down with the Derricos,' the show may not return due to low ratings. Loyal fans, like me, blames the network for not doing enough to support the series. Credit the source cheatsheet.com.
