To the mayor of New York City,

We would like you to rename the Williamsburg Bridge to "Sonny Rollins Bridge" to honor the saxophone colossus of jazz.

Here is the reason why you (and offcourse we) have to rename it:

"By 1959, Rollins had become frustrated with what he perceived as his own musical limitations and took the first – and most famous – of his musical sabbaticals. While living on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, he ventured to the pedestrian walkway of the Williamsburg Bridge to practice, in order to avoid disturbing a neighboring expectant mother." No one else on this planet has imbued that bridge with such profound meaning. No one else has used that bridge as a means to achieve greater artistic expression.

We owe this to a person, to the great Sonny Rollins, who has kept the spirit of New York City and the art of jazz alive with such passion.
