I submit this petition on behalf of numerous friends who feel violated and betrayed by their own country - the United States. They have experienced the removal of their rights and, in some instances, have been forcibly and illegally deported. This heavy-handed approach has left many of us questioning the democratic nature of our homeland. As such, I propose that the United States of America be renamed the Dictatorship of the United States of America to reflect the reality of the situation. Despite being globally recognized as ‘The Land of the Free’, it’s of grave importance to shed light on the violations of civil liberties in our country. According to the Human Rights Watch, over 100 enacted laws are threatening civil liberties in 2025 alone (source: Human Rights Watch annual report). Let's make the increasing authoritarian tendencies clear by changing the nation's name. It is time we recognize the urgent need for reform. Please, sign this petition to make our unheard voices heard.
