Louis March, founder of the Zero Gun Violence Movement was an iconic, dedicated advocate who believed that everyone, regardless of postal code had a right to live in a community free of violence.  

Louis advocated for the root causes of youth violence to be addressed and adequately funded to allow youth in all communities across the City of Toronto to have viable opportunities that promote growth and success.

Louis worked with various organizations, in all communities of Toronto, but spent a significant amount of time in the Regent Park community due to the stigma and the increased numbers of shooting instances and homicides.

It is due to Louis’ tireless work and love for Regent Park that we are requesting the City of Toronto to rename Shuter-Sumach Parkette to Louis March Parkette, to honour our beloved friend Louis March, who passed away July 20, 2024.

Please join us in our request to honour Louis March, honour a man that has positively impacted communities who have suffered the trauma of community violence and encouraged us to unify in an effort to achieve zero violence in the City of Toronto.
