Subject: H.R. 2290 Update: Petition, Hearing Status, and Testimony Opportunities

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share a brief update on H.R. 2290 and where things currently stand.

First, thank you. Over 200 people have now signed the petition, and we’re deeply grateful to everyone who has signed, shared, and helped keep this issue visible. Your support has made a real difference in documenting concern and building momentum.

At this time, H.R. 2290 is awaiting a hearing date in the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. We are actively monitoring the committee schedule and will share information as soon as a hearing is announced.

We have also received guidance on how to submit testimony for the Senate hearing. Importantly, written testimony may be submitted up to two weeks after the hearing date. If you are interested in providing written testimony in support of inclusive and accurate recognition of women’s WWII contributions, please reply to this email, we are beginning to compile a list of supporters who would like to participate.

Additionally, if you are open to speaking with a reporter about this bill and why it matters, please let us know. We are working to connect interested supporters with media opportunities as they arise.

Thank you for continuing to stand with us as we work to ensure that women’s contributions during World War II are honored fully, accurately, and without exclusion.

With gratitude,
Mel Bloom
