The Washington Football Team needs a new mascot and I believe they should be the Washington Red Pandas!

They would get to keep the R from the old mascot and logo, so that saves money for branding, but it also tells a story. Rusty the Red Panda escaped the Washington Zoo in 2013 and Twitter went nuts trying to find him in the city. I think Rusty the Red Panda should be Washington's new football mascot. 

No only is it special to the city, but red panda merch would be so different from anything else in football. We don't need more bird merch! (Red Tail Hawk is also in consideration.) I would legit change my allegiance from the Baltimore Ravens and their Edgar Allen Poe reference to be a Washington Red Pandas fan. Be different! Be original! Be the Red Pandas!

If some football teams can have mascots such as a tree (Stanford), a nut (Ohio State), a gopher (Minnesota), or a dolphin (Miami), then I think we can have Red Pandas as a football mascot!
