The necessity of this petition came as a personal realization and disappointment. Like many others, I initially misread the name of the bird now known as a cockatiel parrot and was taken by the delightful sound of "cocktail parrot". Disappointment washed over me when I realized my mistake. However, this personal disappointment sparked an idea: why not embrace the misnomer, leading to both a slight smile and an updated, attractive name that fits the bird's colorful character? 

     This isn't an unprecedented move. Language evolves naturally over time, adapting to the linguistic culture of the people it serves. In the field of ornithology, renaming existing birds or naming new ones is not uncommon. Even in the string of words, 'cockatiel parrot', the first word - 'cockatiel', is an anglicized version of the Dutch name for the bird, 'kaketielje'.

     There's an inherent melody and cheer in the name 'cocktail parrot,' making it more appealing and reflective of the joyful nature these creatures embody. Evidently, many people are already misreading 'cockatiel' as 'cocktail,' and it seems to be a natural inclination due to the similarities in spelling and pronunciation. Therefore, why not embrace this change?
