Rename the Bill and Hillary Clinton Airport to Gen. Douglas MacArthur National Airport

Rename the Bill and Hillary Clinton Airport to Gen. Douglas MacArthur National Airport

The Issue

I am an Arkansan deeply moved by the legacy of General Douglas MacArthur, a man who served our country with honor and distinction. His dedication to our nation stands in stark contrast to those who have evaded their duty through draft dodging. It is my belief that such a distinguished figure deserves recognition in his home state of Arkansas.

The Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little Rock, Arkansas currently bears the name of individuals whose actions have been contentious at best. In contrast, General Douglas MacArthur's contributions are universally recognized as commendable. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his service during World War II and played a crucial role in rebuilding Japan post-war.

Arkansas is proud to be the birthplace of this national hero - born in Little Rock on January 26, 1880 - yet we lack significant landmarks honoring him. Renaming our largest airport after him would serve as a constant reminder not only of his contributions but also what it means to serve one's country with honor.

This petition calls upon all Arkansans who believe that our landmarks should reflect figures worthy of admiration and respect rather than political controversy. Let us rename the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport as Gen. Douglas MacArthur National Airport, honoring an individual whose legacy truly embodies American values.
