Rename Sweet Jesus and change its logo

The Issue

As a deeply devout Orthodox Christian, I find great comfort in my faith, which is the cornerstone of my life, my values, and my worldview.
I was deeply saddened to learn that the popular ice cream chain Sweet Jesus has chosen a name and logo that, in my view, belittles and disrespects sacred references to Jesus Christ.

While the expression "Sweet Jesus" may be common, using it as a brand for a commercial enterprise, especially one associated with something as mundane as ice cream, risks offending millions of Christians for whom the name of Jesus holds the highest spiritual value. Even more troubling is the company's use of an inverted cross in its logo, a symbol that many associate with mocking the central symbol of Christianity—the Holy Cross.

This isn't just a personal offense. It touches on a broader societal issue of religious sensitivity. Religious names and sacred symbols are more than just aesthetic choices; they symbolize centuries of faith, sacrifice, and devotion. Treating them as marketing ploys devalues their meaning and disrespects those who cherish them.

My Personal Story
When I first came across a petition on this issue, I immediately signed it. I did so because I felt a need to defend the sanctity of my faith not only for myself but also for future generations who deserve to be treated with dignity. For me, faith isn't abstract—it's lived daily. Seeing the most sacred name in Christianity used to refer to ice cream was deeply shocking.

Facts and Statistics

Christianity remains the world's largest religion, with over 2.3 billion adherents worldwide, including over 260 million Orthodox Christians.

Past controversies have shown that disrespect for sacred religious symbols often leads to severe public backlash, boycotts, and reputational damage for the companies involved.

This petition is not an attack on creativity or business. Rather, it is a respectful but urgent call for Sweet Jesus to act responsibly and change its name and logo in a way that neither exploits nor insults sacred Christian themes.

By signing this petition, you join me and countless others in the fight for religious respect and recognition. Let's urge Sweet Jesus to reflect on the profound meaning of these symbols and make changes that demonstrate cultural and spiritual sensitivity.
