The Issue

In partnership with the Des Moines Public Schools Board the time has come to honor an individual who has played a pivotal role in shaping the lives of countless students and enriching the educational environment at Lincoln High School. We propose naming the Commons at Lincoln High School after the former Principal and alum - Albert H. Graziano, who dedicated years to supporting Des Moines Public Schools and our Southside community.
Principal Graziano, known for his unwavering commitment to education and heartfelt dedication to every student, retired after 44 years of service within Des Moines Public Schools. He was not just an administrator but a true champion for education, advocating tirelessly for resources and programs that benefited all students.
The Commons at Lincoln High School is a place where Railsplitters gather and develop lifelong relationships. Naming it after someone who was instrumental in its development and who has profoundly impacted the lives of many, would serve as a perpetual testament to the values of community that Mr. Graziano demonstrated. In addition to the role he played at Lincoln High School, Graziano engaged with the broader Des Moines community leaving a mark that extends beyond our school's walls. His commitment has made our community a better place.
Join us in supporting this proposal to ensure that the legacy of an extraordinary leader continues to inspire for generations. Sign this petition to name the 'Lincoln High School - Commons' in honor of a deserving leader and alum, acknowledge to by the Des Moines Register as, "Lincoln's Great Guy".
