From the loving family of Mr. Crawford,
Last night, we sent the SPUSD Board and superintendent an email requesting that they consider adding the renaming the band room in honor of our father topic to their 6/25/24 meeting agenda. To justify our request, we provided them with:
- background information/context,
- a link to our family-organized petition and
- a link to the digital signing book for Mr. Crawford organized by the music boosters
While we have not yet received a response from the Board, ironically the 6/25/24 Board meeting has now been canceled. Many of you planned to attend and for that we are greatly appreciative.
However, this minor setback gives us more time to capture additional signatures and rally even more community support with your help!
The next board meeting is Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 6:30pm.
While we will work to officially get on the next board meeting agenda, we believe that community support will be critical to getting some traction and will likely make the difference in our family's efforts.
If you are able to attend, we appreciate and strongly encourage you to utilize the 3-minute public input time slots to share your perspective on why the SPHS, SP and larger community supports the renaming of the band room after Mr. Crawford.
The meeting is closed at 5:30pm and opens to the public at 6:30pm. Time slots for the 3-minutes must be requested before the meeting begins, so please arrive early if you can to this address:
