We call on the Collier County Board of County Commissioners to begin the process of renaming Prince Andrew Boulevard in District 3.

Street names are public honors. They should reflect the values of integrity, accountability, and respect that our community stands for. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is a controversial figure whose public record has brought widespread concern and scrutiny. Continuing to honor him and his former title on a county roadway does not reflect the character of Collier County residents.

We respectfully request that the Collier County Board of County Commissioners:

•  Initiate the formal renaming process
• Invite public input on a new name
• Provide clear guidance to affected residents and businesses if applicable 

Our public spaces should unite and uplift our community. It’s time to choose a name for this street that does so.
