2022年2月24日凌晨5點（基輔時間），俄羅斯對想要和平的4100萬烏克蘭人發動了野蠻且毀滅性的戰爭，成為二戰以來歐洲大陸最殘酷的戰爭。今天，烏克蘭全民皆兵，成千上萬的人被徵召入伍，為的是爭取自由—不僅是烏克蘭的自由，更是全世界的自由。俄羅斯不僅對烏克蘭宣戰，更對整個民主世界宣戰。

俄羅斯完全無視了烏克蘭是一個主權國家的事實，普京入侵烏克蘭的行徑，完全違反國際法，而俄羅斯正對著其人民洗腦並試圖可恥地抹走事實—更對其異見大舉任意逮捕；縱使身處國外，俄羅斯外交官不但沒有聆聽國際社會的聲音，反而在社交網站發表官方宣傳試圖粉飾太平。當俄羅斯外交官已經被暴君的歪理荼毒時，更名可提醒莫北協臺北辦事處的職員和臺北市市民—烏克蘭是個主權獨立的國家，其領土完整不應受侵犯。

台灣與烏克蘭都站在對抗威權及軍事擴張的前哨點 — 烏克蘭的命運，與台灣息息相關。烏克蘭如果被打敗，台灣將會是下一個被威權侵略的對象。而世界各國正發起將俄羅斯大使館的街道更名活動，台灣作為一個民主社會，應參與其中，讓台灣人和在台香港人大聲地告訴俄羅斯—它入侵烏克蘭的行動不會得逞，且注定要失敗；並同時表達對烏克蘭這擁有不屈不撓、不屈不撓的精神和自由意志的人民的家園的支持！

Russia not only declared war on Ukraine but also on the entire free world.

Russia is completely ignoring the fact that Ukraine is a sovereign state. Putin's invasion of Ukraine is a complete violation of international law, and Russia is brainwashing its people and trying to shamelessly erase the facts - and mass arbitrary arrests for its dissent; In addition, Russian diplomats not only failed to listen to the voice of the international community but instead published official propaganda on social networking sites in an attempt to cover up facts. At a time when Russian diplomats have been poisoned by the tyranny's delusions, the name change will remind the staff of the Taipei office of the Moscow-Taipei Coordination Commission on Economic and Cultural Cooperation (MTC) and the citizens of Taipei of the fact that Ukraine is a sovereign and independent country and its territorial integrity should not be infringed.

Both Taiwan and Ukraine stand at the outpost against authoritarianism and military expansion - the fate of Ukraine is closely related to Taiwan. If Ukraine is defeated, Taiwan will be the next target of authoritarian aggression. While countries around the world are launching a campaign to rename the streets of the Russian embassy, ​​Taiwan, as a democratic society, should get involved and let Taiwanese and Hong Kongers in Taiwan tell Russia aloud that its invasion of Ukraine will not succeed and is doomed; and at the same time expressing support for Ukraine, the homeland of a people of indomitable, indomitable spirit and free will!

(I'm a HKer in Canada, but I hope to stand with the Taiwanese together against the Russian invasion of Ukraine. However I can no longer do the same thing in Hong Kong, thus I hoped to rename the street outside the Office of MTC in Taipei instead, as one of the major moves by the people of East Asia to support Ukraine and shows the determination of Hong Kong people and Taiwan people to oppose the barbaric invasion.
