After 8 seasons with Nashville SC, Taylor Washington is calling it a career. He retires as the club leader in appearances across USL and MLS with 166 - 99 at the MLS level. He will best be remembered for his work off the field with various non-profits including The Special Olympics, Dominic’s Toy Box, and Vanderbilt Children’s hospital.  His community efforts led him to 5 consecutive NSC Humanitarian of the year awards.  

For that, we believe NSC should rename their year end award the Taylor Washington Humanitarian of the Year. After all if Vince Lombardi’s winning of the first two Super Bowls gets his name on the trophy, Taylor’s five consecutive wins deserve a trophy in his name as well. 

The naming isn’t just symbolic, but an effort to preserve the example Taylor has set for generations of players and fans alike.
