Despite their distinctive features, their names do not reflect their uniqueness. We propose a change in the common names of these species to the Eastern and Western Jelly Donut Bats. This change will not only make them more memorable but also increase public interest in bat conservation efforts.

By renaming these bats with an engaging name like 'Jelly Donut', we can spark curiosity among people about these fascinating creatures leading to increased support for bat conservation initiatives. Let's give our red bats the recognition they deserve while promoting biodiversity conservation.
