Jessica Guzman was my best friend who was tragically murdered by a serial killer in October of 1990. The pain of losing her in such a horrific manner has never left those who loved her. Over the years, murals that were put up in her honor have been removed, erasing traces of her memory from the community she was once a vibrant part of. It is my hope to create a lasting tribute to Jessica by having the Castle Hill & Seward Avenue street sign named after her, making her presence permanent in Castle Hill, The Bronx, NY.

Jessica was not only my best friend but a beloved member of our community. She brought joy and light to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Recognizing her in this way would not only honor her memory but also stand as a reminder of the preciousness of life and the impact one individual can have on the world.
