I’m a student at Nature Coast Technical High School and I’ve heard many talk on the renaming of the street to our school. Many would prefer to not rename it to what it is set to be named soon, which is Charlie Kirk Memorial Hwy. Rather than the road of 2 schools after Mr. Kirk, many believe it would be more appropriate to name another road CKMH. Along with many students, I believe that renaming California St to Tech Way, like Hudson High’s “Cobra Way”, is a much better way to represent our school.

Currently, the street leading to our school, California Street, is set to be renamed Charlie Kirk Memorial Highway. This to me and others is not a political view, but rather a view on our school. While I understand honoring individuals, I believe that renaming this street to "Tech Way" would be a more fitting tribute to our school's spirit and values. Our school is a hub of technological learning and innovation, making "Tech Way" an extension of what we stand for.

Changing the street name to "Tech Way" would not only bring school pride but also provide a daily reminder of our identity to students, faculty, and the broader community. It would actively engage our school with the city of Brooksville, giving a sense of belonging and unity.

Renaming a street may seem like a small gesture, but for us, it symbolizes the acknowledgment and celebration of the path we tread every day at Nature Coast Technical High School. It embodies our aspirations and honors our dedication to academic excellence and technological advancement.
