It is pending approval with Sunrise Park & Recreation

We are grateful to share that Sunrise Recreation and Park District has expressed its willingness to rename the park in honor of Corporal Gurpreet Singh. The District is currently working through the process of updating its naming policies to make this possible. While this takes time, this is a meaningful and encouraging step forward.

We sincerely appreciate the support of everyone who signed the petition, shared our story, and stood with us throughout this journey. Your voices have helped bring us to this point. We look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with the District as they finalize the policy changes and move toward officially honoring Corporal Gurpreet Singh's service, sacrifice, and legacy for generations to come.

We noticed that there have been a number of donations made through this petition. At the time the petition was created, we were not aware that a donation option was available. We are currently working with Change.org to determine whether these funds can be transferred toward the expenses associated with the park name change. If that is not possible, we are exploring whether the donations can be transferred to the Corporal Singh Foundation or refunded back to you.
