Ahmed Al-Ahmed is an exemplary Australian: an immigrant who made Australia his home, and risked his life for his community. No one who has seen the footage of an unarmed Al-Ahmed tackling and disarming one of the Bondi attackers will ever forget it.

Al-Ahmed demonstrated the values we treasure as Australians: bravery, compassion for those in need, mateship. We are proud to call him an Australian, and want to honour him for his courage and his sacrifices. 

I petition Waverley Council to rename a street (such as Queen Elizabeth Drive) after Ahmed Al-Ahmed. He deserves to be recognised and honoured, and all Australians and visitors to Bondi Beach should know his name.
