Change the Animal Shelters in New Mexico

This petition had 2,128 supporters

This petition is to ask for the change in structure and process of the Animal Shelters in New Mexico which will result in saving millions of lives of innocent animals each year.

The New Mexico shelters do not have a system set up that is efficient in any means. Compared to other states it is very outdated and leads many to seek pets elsewhere and leaves animals with 7 days before their death.

This petition asks for the change of the process of the Animal Shelter procedures. Animals need to be spayed/neutered while in the shelter and put up for adoption as already being spayed/neutered. This will prevent further overpopulation and will make animals more likely to be adopted. If the animal cannot be spayed/neutered in time then a voucher for the spay/neuter should be provided to the adopter at no cost to them. This can be done! Look to other states for guidance! Example: Texas has this exact procedure with a $70 adoption fee.

With your help, we can make a huge difference and take this all the way to the top to save all the shelter animals in New Mexico and give them the voice that they don't have!
