We Want a Sidewalk Campaign Our meeting on Friday, June 2, 2017, with M René Lapierre and SCDSB Superintendent of School Effectiveness Nicole Bédard was a huge success. The students presented M Lapierre with the signed petitions along with quotes, videos, and many policies from the City of Greater Sudbury WSP January 2017 report that support our sidewalk request. We are all very proud of our Grade 5/6 FI class and the tremendous support from the school and community. M Lapierre will be presenting our petition request to council on June 13th at which point, Council will review our request. We should be receiving an update by the end of August. Should we be successful, the City of Greater Sudbury would have to study the area for the best possible solution and submit for approval to budget for November 2017. Construction of a safe pathway or sidewalk would start once the frost has left sometime in Spring 2018. Thank you again for all your support.
