Remove Zariba from the euthanasia list

Remove Zariba from the euthanasia list
The Issue
Please Help Us Save Zariba’s Life
We, the undersigned, respectfully and urgently petition for the immediate halt of the planned euthanasia of a dog named Zariba and request that all reasonable alternatives be fully explored to save her life.
Zariba is not just a number, a kennel card, or a case file — she is a living, breathing soul who feels fear, pain, hope, and love. Like so many dogs facing euthanasia, Zariba’s story is one of misunderstanding, circumstance, and lack of time — not lack of worth.
Dogs like Zariba are often labeled as “unadoptable” not because they are beyond help, but because the systems meant to protect them are overwhelmed. Fear, stress, past trauma, or inadequate environments can cause behaviors that are temporary and reversible with the right care, structure, and compassion. These behaviors should never be a death sentence.
Euthanasia is permanent. Rehabilitation, training, decompression, and rescue placement are not.
Zariba deserves the chance to be evaluated outside of a high-stress shelter environment, to receive professional behavioral support if needed, and to be placed with experienced rescuers or fosters who understand dogs like her. Across the country, countless dogs once scheduled for euthanasia are now thriving family companions because someone spoke up before it was too late.
We believe Zariba’s life has value.
We believe that convenience, time constraints, or limited resources should not outweigh the sanctity of life when alternatives exist.
We believe that compassion must guide decisions — especially when the consequence is irreversible.
By signing this petition, we urge all responsible parties to:
- Immediately suspend Zariba’s euthanasia
- Allow time for rescue placement or foster placement
- Permit evaluation by a qualified rescue or trainer
- Choose life when life-saving options are available
- Zariba cannot speak for herself. She depends entirely on humans to make the right choice — not the easiest one.
Please choose mercy.
Please choose compassion.
Please choose life.
Save Zariba.
